is anyone else noticing how many stories seem to revolve around power, secrets, technology, and accountability right now?
because i have been watching the news this week, and i cannot stop thinking about it.
the Cornell 7 case.
the latest developments involving Trump, Russia, and Ukraine.
the reports that Ukrainian drone strikes may have disrupted Russian online bot activity.
they are completely different stories.
so why do they all feel connected?
why does every headline suddenly seem to lead back to the same uncomfortable questions?
who has power?
who controls information?
and what happens when people stop trusting the systems they were told to believe in?
then i opened my ephemeris.
five planets are retrograde right now: Venus, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
and honestly?
i do not think that is something to casually scroll past.
because retrogrades are not just about old exes coming back or delayed text messages.
sometimes they feel like the collective is being forced to look again.
look at what was hidden.
look at what was ignored.
look at who was protected.
look at what people were told not to question.
and maybe the real question is... what is the world being asked to revisit right now?

the Cornell 7 case.
the Cornell 7 case has brought conversations about sexual violence, institutional responsibility, secrecy, and accountability back into public view.
a former Cornell student filed a civil lawsuit alleging that she was drugged and sexually assaulted by multiple fraternity members in 2024.
the case is ongoing.
but the bigger conversation is already here.
what happens when people believe an institution failed the people it was supposed to protect?
what happens when reputation becomes more important than truth?
what happens when survivors have to fight just to be taken seriously?
and why does Venus retrograde in Scorpio feel so connected to that kind of conversation?
Venus is not only about love and beauty.
Venus is also about values.
what we value.
who we value.
what we are willing to protect.
Scorpio brings secrecy, vulnerability, trust, shared power, and the things people would rather keep hidden.
so when Venus moves backward through Scorpio, i cannot help but wonder...
are we being shown where trust has been broken?
are we being asked to look at the things people hoped would stay buried?
and are institutions being forced to answer questions they have avoided for too long?
you can follow the current reporting on the case here: Associated Press ↗
i keep thinking about 2018.
Venus was also retrograde in Scorpio during October 2018.
that was during a time when conversations about #MeToo, abuse of power, workplace harassment, and institutional silence were everywhere.
does that mean history is repeating itself exactly?
no.
but does it mean the same themes might keep returning until people finally deal with them?
maybe.
because some questions do not disappear just because people get tired of hearing them.

Trump, Russia, and the performance of power.
then there is the Trump, Russia, and Ukraine situation.
Russian diesel.
diplomatic pressure.
questions around intelligence support.
different governments saying different things.
different people claiming they know what is really happening.
and once again, i keep coming back to the same question.
who gets to define the truth?
politicians love certainty.
they love looking powerful.
they love making it seem like they are the only person in the room who understands the bigger picture.
but how often is power actually simple?
how often are these decisions really about peace, or are they about money, influence, resources, and who gets to control the next move?
Saturn is authority.
government.
structure.
rules.
consequences.
Neptune is illusion.
confusion.
idealism.
the story people want you to believe.
so what happens when authority and illusion collide?
what happens when political promises do not match political reality?
and what happens when everyday people realize they may never be getting the full story?
for the reporting behind those headlines: the intelligence dispute ↗ and the diesel agreement ↗.

the Russian bot-farm story.
this one really caught my attention.
after Ukrainian drone strikes damaged Yandex data centers, charts showing a sharp drop in automated traffic began spreading online.
people started saying Russian propaganda bots had disappeared.
and i understand why that idea went viral.
we have all watched misinformation spread through social media.
fake accounts.
rage bait.
coordinated narratives.
comment sections that feel almost too perfectly designed to make people angry.
so when people saw those charts, the question became...
did someone actually damage part of Russia’s online influence machine?
but then another question showed up.
what did the data actually prove?
because automated Yandex crawler traffic is not the same thing as proof that every Russian propaganda network disappeared overnight.
and that distinction matters.
because how many times have we watched a headline go viral before anyone slowed down enough to ask whether it was true?
how many times have people repeated a story because it felt satisfying?
how many times has the internet decided something was fact before the evidence caught up?
the current reporting is worth reading here: Ukraine’s disinformation center ↗ and the crawler-traffic distinction ↗.

Uranus in Gemini is not quiet energy.
Uranus is disruption.
technology.
innovation.
unexpected change.
Gemini is media.
information.
communication.
the circulation of ideas.
so what happens when the planet connected to disruption moves through the sign connected to information?
maybe we get exactly what we are seeing now.
AI.
algorithms.
digital propaganda.
viral misinformation.
automated accounts.
stories moving around the world before anyone has time to question them.
and that brings me to another question.
are we living through an information revolution? or are we living through an information crisis?
the last Uranus in Gemini era was the 1940s.
that caught my attention immediately.
the 1940s were shaped by war, radio, propaganda, intelligence, and governments fighting to control what people believed.
today, the technology looks completely different.
but are the deeper questions really that different?
back then, it was radio broadcasts and newspapers.
now, it is algorithms, AI, social media, digital networks, and content that can reach millions of people in minutes.
the tools changed.
but did the fight over truth ever really go away?
Pluto in Aquarius is the bigger picture.
when i look at the Cornell 7 case, Trump and Russia, Ukraine, Yandex, bot traffic, propaganda, and public distrust, i keep seeing one bigger theme.
the systems people thought were solid are being questioned.
institutions are being challenged.
technology is changing how power works.
and people are starting to wonder who is shaping the story they are being told.
Pluto in Aquarius is not soft energy.
it is about collective systems changing.
it is about people refusing to accept the official explanation just because someone powerful gave it.
it is about asking the questions that make people uncomfortable.
and maybe that is why this moment feels so intense.
because people are no longer satisfied with easy answers.
they want receipts.
they want context.
they want to know who benefits.
they want to know what is being hidden.
are we watching the world wake up? or are we only beginning to realize how much we were never told?
